Advanced Massage & Bodywork
Kiyoki Rykman, LMT CCT CMLDT
I have been practicing bodywork since 2008. In the beginning, I fell in love with the relaxation benefits of massage and I worked at a few destination spas along the beautiful California coast. Along the way, I discovered orthopedic and medical benefits from advanced bodywork modalities and I shifted my practice toward treating pain and chronic conditions.
Today, I see patients from several local chiropractors, orthopedists, physical therapists, acupuncturists, craniosacral therapists, and functional medicine doctors. I take cases from providers regarding general or specific pain, auto accident, surgery, auto immune symptoms, restricted range of motion, and scar tissue restriction.
My job is incredibly rewarding – I get to help and see people through all kinds of physical, mental, and emotional obstacles and watch them eventually reach their goals. The success cases are what motivate me to continue practicing and learning new skills. I genuinely love my job.
My personal pain cases:
In 2017 after my second child was born, I had terrible deep glute and SI joint pain and I would cycle through low level constant pain and high level intermittent pain. X-rays and an MRI showed that my right SI joint and sacrum were heavily rotated and that I had a tucked coccyx. This probably happened during pregnancy and delivery. CBD, cupping therapy, physical therapy, and chiropractic got me back to normal within a few months time.
In 2020, I was struck in a car accident and it left me with intermittent migraines and high level pain that continued for months. For the first few mornings after the accident, it took me about 20 minutes to inch myself out of bed each day. X-rays showed that my neck and low back were a total mess. I taught my husband and another therapist friend a cupping treatment protocol to use on my back and neck so that I could lower my pain level enough to continue working. I also received chiropractic care and physical therapy as part of my recovery. This process took about 6 months before I felt mostly back to normal again.
I understand first hand what acute and chronic pain feels like. I also understand how tedious the journey to recovery can be, but I believe that the effort we put forth now is worth how we will feel in our future.

I conduct my work with energetic intuition, empathy and compassion. My style of hands-on therapy is designed to release restrictions and stagnant energies with a caring, soothing touch. I am dedicated to partnering with my clients and making a positive impact on their mental and physical health. I believe in the importance of creating a safe environment that allows the client to process, release and heal. I have a special interest in addressing conditions involving the head and neck - headaches, neck pain, TMJ/jaw tension, sinus congestion, and blocks in the flow of cranial/spinal fluid. As a vocalist myself, I also enjoy working with other vocalists to ease body, neck or facial tensions that inhibit the capabilities or range of their voices. There are two main structures to my sessions, based on the client’s objective.
Relaxation Sessions ~ Full body massage designed to calm the mind and the body, relieve muscle tension and sinus congestion and reduce stress. Swedish massage with optional Hot Stone, Salt Stone, CBD Oil, Cold Stone and Aromatherapy enhancements.
Therapeutic Sessions ~ targeted work designed to ease chronic or acute pain, headaches, swelling, improve balance and stability, and break up scar tissue and other connective tissue restrictions. Each session is a customized blend of elements drawn from Myofascial unwinding, CranioSacral release, trigger point, manual lymphatic drainage, Swedish massage and deep tissue massage.
My credentials:
Dynamic Body Balancing I: Myofascial Unwinding
Dynamic Body Balancing II: CranioSacral Release
